Authors Levin and Mamlok gave another perspective about technology impact on culture and society. Their main focus was on how cultural studies can understand digital society. They discovered cultural changes are influenced by digital society’s transformations like distinction between reality and virtually amongst people. Which is very true! Sometimes what we see is not real for someone else. Humans have lost this perception because we want to present a lie that we can’t keep up.  Unfortunately, we can get “caught-up” in the fame and never realize the reality we caused.

Culture creates a community that acts as a standard for perceiving, judging and evaluating the technology. Technology affects all the components of culture and determines the direction of cultural development. As it pertains to society, technology is crucial in strengthening our interpersonal connection. In general terms, it means people spend more time in technology instead of their social environment. It changes our perception of expectations and realities. Overall, there are pros and cons when it comes to technology. We can save time and money. Also, put out initiatives that will unify us around the world for a positive cause.

Technology has changed the way society uses it. In marketing, company do not have to rely on traditional techniques. The data shows between 45-76% own a smartphone and 49-67% have a social media. Marketing became more competitive and had to figure out new ways to reach their target audience. The new techniques include SMS messaging, Paid Facebook and YouTube Ads etc. In addition, technology made a shift in advertising as well. Marketing had to change the way of their communication and adapt what appeal to the audience.
